Here's to hoping that it's a quick solution, so I can get on with the rest of the show. All my brake parts have arrived, so I just need to solve this little issue, then get to the reassembling. Pictures will be forthcoming.
By the way, here's to having the right tool at the right moment. Combining my small collection of tools with my Dad's variety means that except for that center punch, I have yet to find myself lacking the proper tool for the job.
It's amazing!
UPDATE:
Lots of things got checked off the to-do list today.
- Calipers cleaned and painted
- Brackets cleaned and painted
- Heat shields rust-treated/painted
- Rotors cleaned and mounted
- Brackets prepared for mounting of pads
It looks like tomorrow will be the final day for the front brakes. I'll be mounting the bracket, pads, and calipers, and then that'll be it. Then it will be on to the right rear caliper, which is frozen. I hope it'll just take some cleaner and elbow grease, because I don't want to have to order another caliper.
Pictures:
- The Brembo rotor mounted
- The bracket pulled off the car, uncleaned and unpainted
- The unpainted calipers
