The calipers are in. Now I'm just waiting on those darn brake pads to arrive from Nevada. And I need some anti-seize for the nuts and bolts.
Until then, I'm gonna spray down the calipers with some hi-temp paint. I will not let rust beat me this time!
UPDATE: Rust has beaten me again. Remember when I was removing the calipers and I broke a bolt on a bracket. Yeah, I forgot about that one. So when I was grinding down the surface rust from the brackets on the bench grinder, I found it again. And it is NOT COMING OUT! So...that put my painting plans on hold.
Instead, I cleaned out my throttle body; it was gunked up just like I read it would be. I also cleaned my spark plugs (oil on plug #4 - I hope it's not my valve cover gasket) and repaired my hood release mechanism.
And huffed a bunch of chemicals: carb cleaner, penetrating oil, lubricating spray...
UPDATE #2: A little box arrived this morning (May 7th)- my carbon ceramic brake pads. Oooh boy...I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. I still have to take care of the that bolt and the painting before I can reassemble my brakes though. And it's too humid and rainy today to spray, so I guess it'll have to wait until the weekend.
I'm going to go give the DMV a call (it's a secret why).
